This is a practical-based qualification intended for those who assess both occupational competence in the work environment, and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the workplace (i.e. workshop, classroom or another training environment).The Guild Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement is a substantial vocational qualification that will prepare you for a career as a vocational assessor.
During the course of this qualification, you will cover the following units:
Understanding the principles and practices of assessment
The aim of this unit is to develop your knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of assessment.
Assess occupational competence in the work environment
The aim of this unit is to develop your performance to carry out assessments of occupational competence in a work environment.
Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding
The aim of this unit is to develop your performance in carrying out the assessment of vocational skills, knowledge and understanding outside of the work environment.
Qualification Requirements
In order to meet the requirements of this qualification, you must be able to fulfill the requirements below.
You will be required to assess 2 candidates on 2 separate occasions so you must ensure that you are able to access suitable candidates to allow you to complete your assessments. 1 candidate must be deemed to have language, literacy or physical needs.
It is recommended that you are working (or volunteering) in an establishment that offers NVQ or VRQ qualifications as this will give you the best access to the candidates you require as well as the relevant IQA and EQA requirements as specified by Guild.
