Working within our commercially equipped hair salon, each student will learn the skills required to gain competence at this level. You will learn the following aspects of creative and advanced hairdressing techniques:
The mandatory units within this qualification include:
- Monitor procedures to safely control work operations
- Promote additional services or products to clients
- Provide hairdressing consultation services
- Creatively cut hair using a combination of techniques
- There are a number of optional units which can be added to fulfil qualification requirements**
Optional units – Group 1:
- Colour hair using a variety of techniques
- Provide colour correction services
- Creatively style and dress hair
- Creatively dress long hair
- Develop and enhance your creative hairdressing skills
- Create a variety of permed effects
- Provide creative hair extension services
- Provide specialist consultation services for hair and scalp conditions
- Provide specialist hair and scalp treatment
How will I be assessed?
- Assessment is concentrated on practical competence. You must be able to demonstrate consistent performance of a commercially acceptable standard of work, combined with written and oral competence in the subject studied.
- Continual assessment throughout the course Written assignments and tests
- Practical assessments are undertaken on paying clients and must be completed in a commercially acceptable timescale
- Portfolios of collated study evidence
